How to Order Flange Insulation Gasket Kits

Please specify the following:

  • Flange size and pressure rating

  • Gasket type: D, E, or F

  • Gasket sealing element material

  • Sleeve and washer material

Recommended Installation Procedure

  1. Verify that the insulation kit contains the specified materials.

  2. Clean and inspect pipe flange faces; apply lubricant to all bolt threads.

  3. Install the gasket and align the flanges with the bolt holes.

  4. Use alignment pins in two diametrically opposite bolt holes whenever possible to ensure proper alignment of flanges and gasket.

  5. Insert insulating sleeves into the bolt holes—do not force, as sleeve damage may occur.

  6. Insert the bolt with insulating washers against each flange, followed by the steel washer and nut.

  7. Tighten two diametrically opposite bolts to 30% of final torque.

  8. Replace alignment pins with bolts and tighten remaining bolts to 30% of final torque.

  9. Tighten all bolts to 50%, then 100% of the final torque value.

  10. Bolts should extend approximately 1/4″ past the nut after tightening.

How to Order Flange Insulation Gasket Kits

Specify The Following:

  • Flange Size and Pressure Rating.
  • Gasket Type: D, E, or F.
  • Gasket Sealing Element, Sleeve, and Washer Material.

  • Insert the bolt with both insulating washers against the flanges, followed by the steel washer and nut.
  • Tighten two diametrically opposite bolts to 30% to total torque.
  • Replace the two alignment pins with bolts and tighten the remaining bolts to 30% of the total torque value.
  • Tighten all bolts to 50%, then to 100% of final torque value.
  • Bolts should be of sufficient length to extend through the nut approximately 1/4″.
