PEEK back-up rings are precision-machined plastic support rings designed to prevent O-ring extrusion in high-pressure sealing systems.

We produce both custom and standard PEEK™ back-up rings for hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial sealing systems where reliability and dimensional stability matter.

PEEK Back-Up Rings Description

PEEK™ back-up rings are designed to support elastomer O-rings and prevent extrusion into clearance gaps between mating components.

Elastomer O-rings are widely used as reliable seals in static and dynamic hydraulic and pneumatic systems. However, as pressure and temperature increase, elastomer materials soften and can extrude into the clearance between metal surfaces. Elevated temperatures further degrade the mechanical strength of elastomers, accelerating extrusion and seal failure.

High pressure combined with high temperature is common in fluid power systems. PEEK™ back-up rings provide the structural support needed to maintain seal integrity, extending O-ring life and preventing costly leaks, downtime, and system failures.PEEK™ material specifications
